TWO INTALIAN VICTORIES OUT OF FIVE MATCHES

A bitter Indesit European Champions League for the Italian teams. Three defeats in three matches. The Treviso’s suffered on tuesday against Jastrzebski Wegiel, we added Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza losing in Vienna against aon hotVolleys and Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo in Greece against Iraklis Salonikko. Cuneo is the only one haveing to fight until the very end to go through to the next phase. The Poos is now led by Cannes, followed by Cuneo and Salonikko with the same amount of points. Decisive will be the long distance challenge with the Greeks. Cuneo will have to win the home match aon wednesday (20.30) against last in the standings Jihostroj Ceske Budejovice (CZE). Cannes – Salonikko will start half an hour later.
In case of a standoff, the team with more sets won will go through; in caser of a sets standoff, points will be counted.
In case of another standoff the direct challenges will be looked at.
Victories arrived in the Cev and Challenge Cups. M. Roma Volley and Pallavolo Modena won against Toulouse and Ankara respectively. The second leg is scheduled for the 30th of January.
