VOLLEY ON BOXING DAY: ANOTHER VICTORY

HERE’S THE RESULTS IN TERMS OF AUDIENCE

In the four Serie A1 TIM matches the average is almost a record; Serie A2 TIM shines with head spinning numbers

Boxing day gives more smiles to the Serie A TIM that for the 3rd time in its history has decided to play on Boxing day.

Precious experiences gave goos results in terms of audience; this year was the same.

Four matches were played yeasterday in Serie A1 TIM (the others have been played earlier due to the mational teams engagements). Treviso, Piacenza, Roma and mostly Modena were there for volleyball, registering a total of 13.237 people, 3.309 on average per match.

If overall the number cannot be compared to the ones registered in the past years, on average you can consider it more than positive.  Last year’s average was beaten (3.197) while the 2005/2006 number remains unbeaten with 23.742 overall and 3.392 on average per match.

Excellent data coming from PalaPanini in Modena where the venue was sold out for the Cimone Modena-Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo’s match with over 300 people outside unable to get a ticket; good responses from the other venues., well above the season average.

If comforting news are coming from the top league, excellent ones are registered for the Serie A2, witnessing a great movement.

Yesterday’s round collected 11.229 people from 8 venues, 1.403 on average which is a new record. It is the highest number ever registered, well over last year’s Boxing day’s one (10.638 people, 1.329 on average). A new success that saw Verona, Bassano and Catania shining but which had positive responses from Taviano, Loreto and Pineto too.

This is another victory for the whole volleyball movement which with its choice to play on Boxing Day goes against the rules of other sports but together with the anglo-american models: “The numbers registered on Boxing Day – the Volleyball League’s MD Massimo Righi declared – are exiting once again, because they confirm our choice.

We are very pleased that the women’s championship has taken that road too. Yeasterday we have collected important data and broke a new record in terms of audience in Serie A2 TIM, clear sign that our movement is healthy and followed by many”.
