SERIE A1 TIM – 9th Round
LET’S START AGAIN!
After 37 days taken for the international engagements, Serie A1 TIM is ready to come back with its 9th round. From now on, so close to the end of the first leg, false steps are forbidden.
On saturday Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza – M. Roma volley will open the programme at 18.30. Live on SKY Sport 2, the International Trio Zlatanov – Meoni – Bovolenta, will try and carry on with their re-launch in the standings, already started before the break with their three consecutive victories.
Roma, on the other hand, cannot miss out if they want to aim at the top, only one pint behind; it will be a special match especially for Leo Marshall who played four seasons in Piacenza, back there for the first time as an ex.
On sunday the big match between the leader, Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo and the Italian Champions of Sisley Treviso (18.30 live on SKY Sport 2), match expected to be “sold out”.
It has become an absolute classic in the past few years, with 65 challenges behind, in Sisley’s favour with 46 matches won against the 19 won by Cuneo.
Unforgettable January 2002 match won by Cuneo at tie break, with a second set that ended on 54-52 for Treviso after 48 minutes of incredible emotions.
Still on sunday from 18.00, the other four matches. At PalaPanini, Cimone Modena is hosting Acqua Paradiso Gabeca Montichiari; Andrè, Heller and Murilo, fresh winners of the World Cup 2008, will try and stop the best scorer of the season so far, Mauro Gavotto, who collected 164 points in 8 matches.
RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugi is hosting Lube Banca Marche Macerata in a special match for many. Giacomo Santini will meet his ex team; same thing for Martin Lebl and Sebastian Swiderski who will meet PalaEvangelisti’s supporters and their ex team mates again.
It will not be just another match for Ferdinando De Giorgi either who with Perugia reached the play offs final in 2005, qualifying for the Champions League.
In Milan, Andreoli will visit Sparkling. Eyes on Giordano Mattera who just a few hours from the announcement of his return to Latina, is already meeting the team who selected him at the start of the season.
Newly nominated Pres. Lapo Elkann will be attending the match too.
Antonveneta Padova, the first part of the season’s big surprise, will fly to Corigliano where they will meet a Famigliulo that needs to do something about their situation in the standings.
Their last victory is dated 10th of october in Latina.
Closing the programme (on sun at 20.30) are Itas Diatec Trentino – Prisma Taranto. It will be Radames Lattari’s debut on the Taranto bench, meeting the formation he coached at the end of last season.

CREMA, LORETO AND CATANIA CHASING VERONA
Serie A2 TIM is playing on sunday for its 11th round of the first leg at 18.00.
New leader, Marmi Lanza Verona, will host Divani&Divani Avellino.
Bojan Janic will not play for sure recovering from a knee operation; Olieman might be after the 28th of october’s stop.
Not to be missed is Loreto’s match, where Esse-ti Carilo will try and score points against SP TTTLines Catania; it is going to be an important match because the two teams are both on 21 points in the standings.
Premier Hotels Crema, another team on 21 point, will be playing at home against Framasil Cucine Pineto, formation that grabbed two important points last week-end against Loreto with coach Babini’s debut on the bench.
The eyes will be on the Fiorese SpA Bassano – Mare & Volley Forlì match as well. Piero Molducci will not be on Forli’s bench, disqualifyed for for rounds. Bassano will try and start their positive journey again after last tuesday’s stop in Catania.
For the first time in Serie A Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia will play against Materdomini Volley.it Castellana Grotte. Vibo, after winning in forli, is close to the top ones, only two points behind Verona.
Raccorderie Metalliche Mantova, after Hietanen’s come back from the international engagements, will try and gain some precious points for its standings.
Finnish diagonal player’s absence has coincided with two consecutive defeats. Their opponent this time will be Enzo Valdo’s Codyeco Santa Croce, meeting Mantova for the second time this season.
Home match for Monini Marconi Spoleto too, team that grabbed a precious point in the last match in Castellana. Polidori’s formation is now bigger thanks to last week’s purchase, Portuguese player Valdir Sequeira, with Taranto in the past two season, has now joined the Club.
The TV deferement live on Snai Sat at 20.30 covering two teams who will certainly fight through their teeth promising a great show: Stilcasa Salento d’amare Taviano and Tiscali Cagliari.
