The vice-president of Emma Villas Siena Fabio Mechini takes stock of the situation in the biancoblu house. Coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team won the last three matches of the championship: at home against Reggio Emilia, in Aversa, and then at home against Pineto. Three successes that brought Siena back to fifth position in the standings, with 25 points to their credit. The Sienese have resumed their training in 2025 today, and they have two important and not simple commitments on the calendar: on January 6th they will play at home against Ravenna (the match begins at 5.30 pm) and on Sunday January 12th they will then be away at Brescia. Emma Villas will therefore challenge two of the favorites to win the A2 series championship.

“2024 was a very challenging year, with many good memories and some bittersweet images – declares Vice President Mechini. – There were 35 matches played (21 wins and 14 defeats), 17 within friendly walls (13 wins) and 18 away (with 8 wins). The first race of 2024 was held in Pordenone with the beautiful tiebreak victory and the closing of the regular season in 3rd place on equal points with Cuneo. We cannot forget an extraordinary playoff journey, 2 fantastic matches against Brescia, an epic semi-final against Porto Viro to finally stumble against the favorite Grottazzolina in the final; in the Italian Cup then Brescia then took revenge on us (and the Lombards then went on to win both the Italian Cup and the Super Cup). The season – says the vice president – also ended with a goal never achieved before, winning all the territorial titles with our youth teams”.
