The first leg of the CEV Cup semifinal is coming up for Trentino Itas: the team coached by Fabio Soli will host the visit of the Turkish team Ziraat Bank Ankara tomorrow, Wednesday 12 March, in the first of two matches between the clubs. At 8:30 pm (live on DAZN), the teams will take to the field at the ilT Quotidiano Arena: for Trento, this will be the twelfth continental semifinal in its history, the fourth in five participations in the CEV Cup. The last semifinal in this competition dates back to 2019, when the team from the Dolomites took home the title. There are several well-known faces in the Turkish team: from the American spiker Anderson (formerly of Vibo Valentia, Modena and Perugia), to the Frenchman Clevenot (best player at the Paris Olympic Games, admired in Italy with the jerseys of Milan and Piacenza), as well as the former Latina, Padova and Verona player Stern. There is also an Italian in the ranks of Ziraat, namely the third hammer Zonca, who wore the jerseys of Santa Croce and Ravenna.

Tomorrow’s match will be the first official match between the two clubs, given that the only precedent dates back to an unofficial match held in 2014 during a pre-season friendly.
