The long trip to Ancona, in a PalaPrometeo with certainly not pleasant temperatures, coincided with the second consecutive tie-break victory of Gabbiano Farmamed Mantova, albeit with different characteristics from that of the previous week. If in fact with Savigliano at home the disadvantage was 1-2, in the Marche Gola and his companions recovered from 0-2 and until halfway through the third set the situation was very difficult indeed (13-7 in favor of the home team).
But what is most surprising in the analysis of the match is that Gabbiano achieved victory with five protagonists who entered work in progress. The bench was therefore decisive, in addition to the opposite player Baldazzi, who took the team by the hand and was the absolute protagonist in the fifth set. Notes of merit also for the central Ferrari, with 4 blocks on the scoresheet and 82% in attack, but we cannot fail to mention captain Gola (11 points), the libero Montarulo, Scaltriti, Tauletta and the playmaker Catellani.
«A complicated match – explains Mattia Catellani – but the result shows that it is a very balanced and demanding championship. Every match is difficult, but we have shown that we are a team with a long roster that doesn’t give up. We made up for someone’s bad day by helping each other, one ball at a time. We also adapted to the conditions of the sports hall and the result finally arrived. A test of character, as with Savigliano, which brings a lot of self-esteem.”
