A few hours before the start of the Final Four of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A3, the President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi, together with the Presidents and some representatives of the four teams participating in the event, accompanied by the President of the Province of Belluno and Mayor of Longarone Roberto Padrin, laid a floral tribute at the Monumental Cemetery of the Victims of Vajont.
The Final Four will in fact be played in Longarone, a municipality that was completely razed to the ground on 9 October 1963 following the Vajont disaster in which almost 2000 people lost their lives.
The local authorities also organized a short guided tour of the Monumental Cemetery, as well as the museum and the photographic exhibition inside, with various anecdotes and touching stories linked to the sad story.
