Shake off the torpor. ABBA Pineto is looking for a reaction, a shock in a two-sided phase of their Serie A2 Credem Banca season. Having reached the 22nd day of the regular season, with five games to play, the white and blues are eighth, suspended between a journey that has so far exceeded expectations and which opens up to the play-off scenario and, to act as a counterbalance, the two consecutive defeats gained in Prata di Pordenone and, last Saturday, at home against Cantù. A double 3-0 that Simone Di Tommaso’s team will try to leave behind on Sunday (6pm) in the treacherous away match at Pala De Andrè, home of Consar Ravenna.
Numbers and rankings give the dimension of the commitment that awaits ABBA. After all, Ravenna is third, -3 behind leaders Brescia and with a run of 16 victories in 21 matches. Pineto instead lost seventh position, the last one needed to play the post season, handing it over to Emma Villas Siena albeit with a minimum gap to close, just one point (32 for the Tuscans, 31 for the Abruzzo). The first leg against Consar, on November 24th at the Pala Santa Maria, played an important role in this process, when ABBA overturned the predictions by winning with a clear 3-0.
