Itas Trentino – Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza will open the eighth return day of the SuperLega Credem Banca championship. On Saturday 8 February (8.30pm live on Rai Sport, Volleyballworld.tv and Sportpiacenza.it) the red and whites on the pitch at the daily ilT Arena in Trento to face the reigning European Champions.
Challenge number 23 is coming against the Trentino team, second in the standings, two points behind Perugia and a game to recover and eight points more than Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza. There are 22 precedents between the two teams in the Regular Season, Scudetto Play Off and Del Monte Coppa Italia SuperLega. In the first leg, Trento prevailed at PalabancaSport 3-1 (25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 for the Dolomites). Last season the two teams faced each other eight times between the Regular season, Scudetto Play Off and Del Monte Coppa Italia SuperLega.
Leonardo Scanferla: “It’s a very demanding end to the Regular Season, we have to try to grow because now very tough tasks await us and every match must be approached as a final. We are a team with excellent potential but cannot afford, as was the case with Civitanova, not to exploit the opportunities created during the match. We can, we know and we must do something more, it’s time to prove it. Another battle awaits us in Trento.”
