A handful of hours before his birthday (thirty-three years of age on Monday 27 January), Dusan Petkovic has very clear ideas about the season finale that awaits his Yuasa Battery. The Serbian opposite, certainly among the most experienced and charismatic elements of the team led by coach Ortenzi, is recovering from a back problem which, added to the previous abdominal injury, kept him out for several matches. All this did not prevent the team from re-emerging from the quicksand into which it had inevitably found itself in the first round, but it is equally inevitable not to think about what could have been if the giant from Nis had been able to give its best contribution on a permanent basis. However, Grottazzolina doesn’t like to make conspiracy theories, we focus on the point and this only means focusing on today and tomorrow, which in this case is called Milan. The week leading up to the match on Sunday 2 February, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm at the PalaSavelli, is therefore a wonderful opportunity to gather impressions of a full-court Petkovic.
Milan is an excellent team, with experienced champions, an excellent coach and young, talented players: how can Grottazzolina put them in difficulty?
I think we need to think more about ourselves, playing as we have been doing in the last period and focusing attention on our part of the pitch. Milan is playing very well in this period, they are in excellent shape; we know that our plus in this second part of the season is our energy and the fact of never giving up, we must do the same against Milan, putting everything we have on the field and we will see in the end if it will be enough.
