Sorrento lives overlooking the sea, but wrote the brightest page of her volleyball history in the mountains: 800 kilometers from home. It is the sweet paradox of a Romeo Sorrento who raises his first trophy to the skies of the Dolomites, and in particular of Longarone: the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3. After defeating the “hosts” of Belluno Volley in the Semi-final, the Campania team also beat Personal Time San Donà di Piave, in a final closed in three parts and played in a masterly manner. A team victory, of a collective that demonstrated that it has an edge. Even in a final in which three athletes finish in double figures (Pol, Baldi and Fortes: all with 10 points) and Patriarca, named Del Monte® MVP, is dominant in front of the net, while Giannotti, top scorer of the match with 11 points, is not enough for the Venetians.
The winning team was awarded by Michele Miccolis, Councilor of the Serie A Volleyball League, together with Roberto Padrin, Mayor of Longarone and President of the Province of Belluno; the MVP plaque was presented by Yvonne Schlesinger, Deputy Director of the Serie A Volleyball League, while the medals around the neck of the second place were placed by Mario Zandomenego, Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Longarone, and Michele Miccolis. Sandro Da Rold, President of Belluno Volley, awarded the four referees of the match.
