Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza announces that the leadership of the first team until the end of the season is entrusted to Ljubomir Travica and at his side as second coach there will be Matteo Bologna.
Ljubo Travica, born in 1954, has thirty years of experience on the bench and he already coached in Piacenza exactly twenty years ago, in the 2004-2005 season, winning the Regular Season and then stopping in the semifinals of the Play Offs at the hands of Perugia.
Having grown up as a volleyball player in the Haok Mladost of Zagreb, he arrived in Italy in the 1983-1984 season, being hired by Panini Modena and then wearing the shirts of Petrarca Padova in A1, Vimercate and Brugherio in A2.
His coaching career began in 1991 in B1 leading Effedì Valdagno. He coached several teams in Italy, including Parma, Gabeca Montichiari, Catania, Palermo, Ferrara before moving to Olympiakos where he remained for two years before returning to Italy to lead Piacenza in the 2004-2005 season. He also coaches Latina, Materdomini and Vibo Valentia before arriving in Poland at the helm of Asseco Resovia. The return to Italy is in the 2023-2024 season, after 15 years between Poland, Qatar, Iran, Croatia, Russia and Tunisia, when at the start of the championship he goes to Taranto, the last team in the standings, leading them to salvation.
