The 3-0 win in Mantova in game 1 of the quarter-finals of the internal play-offs in the White group of the Serie A3 Credem Banca was undoubtedly a great result, but at the home of ErmGroup Altotevere there is at the same time the awareness of not having done anything yet, because there is still a game 2 to win to reach the goal of the semifinal and because even a defeat in the tie-break (perhaps by a narrow margin) would put everything back into question in the decisive game 3, to be played again on Lombard soil. The only certainty is that the season of the white and blues will not end on Sunday 23 March at the San Giustino sports hall and there remains the awareness of having played an excellent performance at the “Marco Sguaitzer” stadium, one of those that boost morale without creating illusions. The middle blocker Augusto Quarta, one of the most valuable pieces of the Marco Bartolini and Mirko Monaldi spiker, confirms the concepts just expressed and adds: “It was very important to win the first set in advantages, recovering from a situation that saw us down at 21-23 – he recalls – because I would say that the entire match passed through the initial fraction. We were good at managing to contain them: during the week we had prepared very well for this appointment and we are happy with the result obtained. We wanted to start in this way and the performance of the individuals who entered the field demonstrated that we wanted to win.
