Francesco Giglio, assistant coach of Domotek Volley: “An important victory, now we’re aiming for second place”

After a characterful victory against Sabaudia, Francesco Giglio, assistant coach of Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria, key coach of the Amaranto staff together with Mister Antonio Polimeni and his assistant Sergio Vandir Dal Pozzo shared his impressions of the past match and the team’s next objectives. A victory that comes after two consecutive defeats and which relaunches the yellow-blue ambitions in the championship.

The comeback in Sabaudia

“It was an important victory because we were coming off two defeats. We didn’t start well, in fact they won the first set. Then, however, we started playing our volleyball and managed to come back, taking the match home,” declared Giglio.
The team showed great character, reversing the result from 1-0 to 3-1, thanks to a group performance: “They are all playing a bit and we are happy about it… With the absence of De Santis and Zappoli, Massimiliano Lopetrone came onto the pitch and gave his contribution. It was an important group performance.”

Giglio underlined the key role of some players in the victory: “Both Massimiliano (Lopetrone Ed.) and Marco Sancini gave two wonderful performances. Replacing Saverio De Santis and Enrico Zappoli is not easy, but they played an excellent match and made a decisive contribution to the victory.”
