The press conference to present the Final Four Del Monte® Coppa Italia took place this morning inside the Palazzo della Regione Emilia-Romagna, the first major event organized by the Serie A Volleyball League in 2025, which will see the competition between inside the Unipol Arena in Bologna four of the best teams in the SuperLega, namely Sir Susa Vim Perugia, Itas Trentino, Cucine Lube Civitanova and Rana Verona. The Final, scheduled for Sunday 26 January 2025 at 3.15pm, will be broadcast live on Rai 2, while the Semi-finals will be visible on Rai Sport. Furthermore, all races are live on VBTV.
The President of the Serie A Volleyball League, Massimo Righi, spoke; the President of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee, Silvano Brusori; the Councilor for Sport and Budget of the Municipality of Bologna, Roberta Li Calzi and the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Sport of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Roberta Frisoni.
Massimo Righi (President of the Serie A Volleyball League): “I’ll start with thanks: thanks to the Region for its hospitality and the renewed trust given to sport; to the Municipality of Bologna, a faithful and reliable partner; to the Territorial and Regional Committees. We are here to present an event that is characterized by continuity. As regards the presence of the public: on Sunday we are going to be sold out, with a few dozen tickets missing, while on Saturday less than a thousand seats are still available. A great job has been done, the Bolognese fabric always responds very well in terms of sport. The news we bring for this Del Monte® Italian Cup: we focused on young people and downtime during matches. For young people, first and foremost: our sponsors, Del Monte® as the leader, have decided to participate in the Fan Area, with stands for entertainment, but also working with educational activities, dealing with education and nutrition aimed at young people. The Andrea Bocelli Foundation will remain at our side as a partner: they will support young people who want to embark on a musical path. I like to remember that there will be important guests from a sporting point of view, including the President of the CEV Roko Sikiric, but above all journalists and representatives from all over the world, including from the United Arab Emirates basin, an area to which we are also looking to try to organize an event in the future in that area. Volleyball matches have started to last a little longer again: things had changed since the introduction of the rally point system, now the actions are getting longer again. These are times that we cannot afford for the most important television networks. We will put some new rules this year: there will be a 15” countdown for the serve; we will not proceed with the change of court at the end of the set, only at the third set will there be a reversal of the court in order to shorten the times. We will shoot the shot, benches and coaches will also be visible in front of the TV, all factors that increase the spectacle of volleyball. Thanks to all our sponsors, we are happy with the new entries. We hope to offer a truly engaging product.”
Silvano Brusori (President of the FIPAV Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee): “Thanks to the Serie A Volleyball League for the invitation; I bring greetings from the Federal President Giuseppe Manfredi, present at the event. The first thought is the joy of being able to have shows like this in our Region, which for us always have a double purpose: the first is entertainment, the second promotion. In Emilia-Romagna, volleyball is played with 8 players, where the eighth member is the Region itself: if the public body and the world of sport proceed hand in hand, top level results are achieved. At the same time, the Tournament of Territories will take place, which will involve nine selections from all over Italy: the great event, in fact, will take place alongside the youth world, with athletes who are entering this splendid world. Roberta Li Calzi (Councillor for Sport and budget of the Municipality of Bologna): “Hosting this event once again in Bologna will give our city a great sporting spectacle. As we know, the best Italian volleyball teams will be there; therefore, a great level of international volleyball.
