Japanese coach Daisuke Umekawa was a guest this afternoon at Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, where Takuma Kawano, a promising young Japanese player that the JVA (the Japanese Federation) sent to Piacenza to “study” Italian volleyball, has been training for over a month.

Daisuke Umekawa, born in 1982, is the coach of Sundai Gakuen High School, the team where the young Kawano, a candidate for the Japan Under 21 men’s national team, has played for the last three years.

In a few weeks, coach Daisuke Umekawa will start coaching the youth teams of Osaka Bluteon, a Japanese Superleague team, with the task of developing young people in the club’s volleyball skills and not just in schools as is currently the case. The Japanese coach attended the training session of Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza led by Ljubo Travica, with whom he discussed working methods.

For some years the Japanese Federation has been proposing and financing the arrival in Italy, for a two-month internship, of talented young Japanese players and this season Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza was chosen to help Takuma Kawano grow and “study” Italian volleyball.
