Cisterna Volley continues intense work in the gym in view of the second consecutive match at the Palasport in Viale delle Provincie. On Sunday 12 January, at 7.00 pm, coach Falasca’s team will host coach Medei’s Cucine Lube Civitanova for the fifth return day of the Credem Banca Super League. With a match still to be recovered against Itas Trentino, the Pontini team aim to make up for the defeat suffered in the first round, in which the Marche team won in three sets.
Cucine Lube Civitanova, led by coach Medei, was able to fully exploit the potential of its roster, obtaining significant responses even from those players who found less space during the season. Among the protagonists stand out the young Iranian Khanzadeh, as well as the experts Dirlic and Orduna, who have repeatedly given a concrete contribution. The best scorer of the team is the opposite Adis Lagumdzija, with 198 points scored in 50 sets played, as well as excelling on serve with 24 aces. Mattia Bottolo follows him, who scored 158 points in one set more. Also worthy of note are the performances of director Mattia Boninfante, in his first season as a starter: the young talent is demonstrating great leadership and has already scored 48 points, of which 20 are blocks, narrowly surpassing Olympic champion Barthelemy Chinenyeze, stuck at 19, while the best in fundamental with 25 statements is the expert Marko Podrascanin.
