A weekend of well-deserved celebrations for the champions of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina; now, however, it’s time to put knee pads and playing shoes back on, because we’re back on the pitch. On Wednesday 1 May the newly promoted team in the Super League will be busy in Cantù, for the quarter-finals of the Del Monte Italian Cup of Serie A2, where they will host coach Denora’s Pool Libertas, already faced twice in the championship and left out of the playoffs. The Lombards, who got the better of Santa Croce in the double match in the round of 16, will therefore have the task of bringing coach Ortenzi’s boys back “back to earth”, who understandably enjoyed a relaxing weekend by virtue of the extraordinary result achieved.
Wednesday’s match, with kick-off at 6pm, however, will not be the only weekly commitment for the Grotesi team, who will indeed be awaited by the return match (with possible golden set in case of a tie in terms of victories) on Sunday 5 May, same time, at the Palasport in Via Fonte San Pietro. At stake is access to the Italian Cup Final Four which will take place in Cuneo on 11 and 12 May.
