COMUNANZA – The Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina’s march towards the championship continues apace, and while the group of twelve athletes available to coach Ortenzi and his large staff alternates physical sessions with technical training in Grottazzolina, the arrival from Canada of central defender Demyanenko, fresh from the Paris Olympics. A few days later it will finally be the turn of the young Croatian opposing player Cvanciger, the last in order of time to join his teammates but so far constantly involved with his national team, and top scorer of his team last night with 17 personal points in the match lost at in front of Israel in the process of qualifying for the next European Championships.
Parallel to the field, however, the territorial promotion activity of the Grotese team does not stop, engaged in Comunanza on Wednesday 21st. A call, the one that came from the small village immersed in the Sibillini Mountains National Park, to which President Romiti’s club strongly wanted to respond presently, in the firm awareness of how mutually important it could be to involve this strip of territory in a dream called Super League. The event, organized by the Municipal Administration at the Luzi Auditorium, saw the initial greeting from the Mayor Domenico Sacconi and the Councilor Matteo Meschini, with the mayor who underlined the honor and importance, just two months after his election, of having brought to Comunanza a team that with its sporting exploits was capable of making an entire Region dream: “Ours is a territory of excellence that ranges from the sea to our Sibillini Mountains, and they are really very happy with your presence in a municipality where there is no shortage of food and wine and entrepreneurial excellence.”
