Yuasa Battery on the rise. Yesterday’s test with Lube Civitanova showed the progress of the group, in a very welcoming PalaSavelli with 800 spectators in the stands. “Compared to the first joint training session, again with Lube, carried out a week ago in Civitanova Marche, I noticed important steps forward – says coach Massimiliano Ortenzi -. We were sure that what we showed in Macerata was not our real value, there was a lot of nervousness given the fact that it was our first outing. Here at PalaSavelli, after a hesitant start, the boys loosened up and we began to play what could be our volleyball. The second set was good, we faced Lube head-on even in the third where we had built an advantage that could have borne greater fruit, but we were a bit naive in managing some decisive balls. This must help us improve further, because in the championship we must close these sets in our favor.” Ortenzi satisfied with the test at PalaSavelli: “We were there, we held the pitch well. There wasn’t such a clear technical gap as in the first test and we are happy. Instead we are less happy with the fourth set where we collapsed. Well, our team can’t afford these breaks. In this championship all sets can be important, we are called to make steps forward.”
The audience had fun: “There were many people and great anticipation for our premiere at Porto San Giorgio – adds Ortenzi -. Those who came to watch the match had fun. Once again comes confirmation of the public’s push, we felt a lot of warmth. I hope that all the spectators who were here and who enjoyed themselves, then we will perhaps find them tripled during the championship matches, starting from September 29th, the date of the home debut in the championship against Monza. It’s important for the kids to have this push here.” Before the match in front of the Lombards, another three weeks of hard work: “We have to think about ourselves, about building our identity and our certainties. Training sessions like those with Lube help us improve and grow.” Ortenzi and the emotions of the PalaSavelli: “It’s a new house, everything to discover. When I come in you have to settle in. Imagining it packed with fans, as we hope, will be thrilling. The enthusiasm of the new house must become a value and not a limit”.
