After having qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Italian national team is preparing for Week 3 of the Volleyball Nations League, which will see the Azzurri engaged in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 18 to 23 June.

In view of next week’s event, Technical Commissioner Ferdinando De Giorgi has released the list of 16 athletes called up for a collegiate match, scheduled in Cavalese from 14 June, who will then leave for Ljubljana.

Below are the athletes and their clubs (with reference to the 2023/24 sports season) and the Week 3 programme, which will see Italy face Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Turkey.

The 16 blues divided by role

Setters: Marco Falaschi (Volleyball Padua), Paolo Porro (Allianz Milano), Riccardo Sbertoli (Itas Trentino).

Spikers: Mattia Bottolo (Cucine Lube Civitanova), Davide Gardini (Volleyball Padova), Luca Porro (Volleyball Padova), Francesco Recine (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza), Tommaso Rinaldi (Valsa Group Modena).

Centrals: Edoardo Caneschi (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza), Lorenzo Cortesia (Rana Verona), Leandro Mosca (Rana Verona), Giovanni Sanguinetti (Valsa Group Modena).

Opposites: Fabrizio Gironi (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza), Alessandro Bovolenta (Consar Ravenna).

Liberi: Marco Gaggini (Mint Vero Volley Monza), Gabriele Laurenzano (Itas Trentino).
