Victorio Ceban is a new player for Emma Villas Siena. The middle blocker, born in 2001 in Ferrara, was the protagonist of a good season with the Castellana Grotte shirt: he put together 212 points, closing the year with 60.6% in attack. He totaled 72 winning blocks, for an average of 0.73 per set; this number puts him on the podium of the players with the highest number of winning blocks in the last championship, in third position. Looking at the statistical performance index, Ceban was the seventh best central defender in the last A2 championship.
For him next season will be the fourth season in the A2 tournament, after those already spent with the shirts of Mondovì, Ravenna and precisely Castellana Grotte.
“I hoped that the negotiation with Siena would materialize, and so it happened – these are Victorio Ceban’s first words as a player for Emma Villas. – I know that the club always aspires to achieve important goals, when as an opponent you find yourself facing them you always know that it will be complicated to get a result. Furthermore, Siena is a splendid city and it is played in a large, beautiful and historic arena. An important roster has been set up in this market, I’m happy to be part of it.”
“As far as I’m concerned – continues Ceban – in the last championship I put together good numbers, even if I’m sad about how the championship ended for the team. However, I feel that I have grown a lot, and I hope to continue to do so in Siena. Everyone speaks well of coach Gianluca Graziosi, I’m sure I can improve further. For the moment I have managed to score good numbers in blocking, I want to do better in attack too. I’m continuing to train in the summer too, I’ll also do some beach volleyball so I can be ready when pre-season preparation begins.”
