Trentino Itas’ journey in the 2024 Brazilian Club World Cup continues in the name of 3-0 successes. After the peremptory victory in three sets on Tuesday against the Iranians of Shahdab, this evening the European Champions promptly conceded an encore, also closing the second match in Pool B with the Argentinians of Ciudad Voley with the maximum margin.
Qualification for the weekend’s Final Four, again at Uberlandia, is now already certain for the yellow-blues who, by virtue of the maximum set quotient acquired so far (6-0), will not need to watch tonight’s match between Sada Cruzeiro (next opponent, at dawn in Italy on Friday) to confirm a place in the top four even before playing the last match of the first phase.
The pass to the semi-finals was obtained by overcoming the vice champions of South America without too many worries, who from the first set found themselves chasing the Trentino players, sometimes even managing to keep their pace (as in the excited final of the second set), without however never giving the impression that you can reopen the game. Soli’s team, which on this occasion gave a rest to Rychlicki and Flavio, always had the reins of the game in their hands thanks to greater effectiveness at the net, between attack (55% of the team) and blocking (11 winners), fundamental in which the Romanian central defender Bartha (8 points with 78% in the first half and 5 blocks) and Pellacani (same scoreboard, however with three blocks and 83% in the first half) excelled time). Michieletto (11) and Gabi Garcia then took care of removing the chestnuts from the fire in the few delicate moments, scoring 11 times with 56% attacking.
