The Semi-final series at the top of the Scudetto Play Off scoreboard opens in the name of Itas Trentino. This evening the Italian champions confirm the unbeaten status of their Italian team compared to Mint Vero Volley Monza (never won in their history in Trento: 18 defeats in as many matches played), taking a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series challenges. The final 3-0 does not accurately reflect a much more closely contested match than one might think looking only at the score; it is certainly the epilogue of the first set that tips the scales in favor of the tricolors. The comeback of the gialloblù was decisive with Monza ahead 19-22. Lethal strike from the home team, highly inspired by the serve with Michieletto and Lavia on top. Having won the hard-fought first set, Itas Trentino takes the reins of the game firmly into their hands, always dictating the law in the scoring. Mint tries several times to change gear without succeeding, relying only on its own places 4 Loeppky and Takahashi, without being able to count on Maar, unavailable due to a ball received in the face already yesterday.
MVP: Alessandro Michieletto (Itas Trentino)
