For the second libero, the choice was to rely on a young player from the house, Tommy Palombarini. Growing up in the Macerata teams, he then moved to the red and white Serie C team, with whom last year he enjoyed a season as a protagonist, “We played a good championship, coming close to the Play-Off final which we only missed at the Golden Set”, recalls Palombarini.
The good performances of last season earned him the call to the first team and the triple jump in category, from C to A2, “I know that coach Castellano followed me and appreciated me for the work done last year; for this season therefore it offered me the opportunity to be part of the A2 roster and it is a great opportunity for me. I’m sure it will be a good, important experience, there is a whole new team that I will get to know and a high-level championship with which I will be able to compare myself to grow.”
DG Italo Vullo confirms the good impressions he had from Castellano, “The coach chose Palombarini and I shared the idea of bringing him to the first team. He is a very interesting boy, he comes from an important season in Serie C where he stood out for his technical skills. He will be a resource for Volley Banca Macerata.”
