Three days before the start of the 29th edition of the Del Monte® Supercoppa di SuperLega, which this year returns to Tuscany, more precisely to Florence, on 21 and 22 September, the following is the roll of honor of the competition, born in 1996/97 season and won, in the first round, by Alpitour Traco Cuneo in their home arena.
Sir Susa Vim Perugia, reigning champions, have already raised the Super Cup to the sky on 5 occasions: the first success in 2017/18, followed by those of 2019/20, 2020/21, 2022/23 and, for the ‘precisely, the one won a year ago at the Palasport in Biella. Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, like Vero Volley Monza, is looking for its first success: last season, the red and whites stopped in the Semifinal against Itas Trentino. The Dolomites, in Florence, will try to put their fourth Del Monte® Supercoppa SuperLega on the board: last year the path of Fabio Soli’s boys surrendered in the Semifinal against Perugia, while the last triumph dates back to the 2021/22 season, when in Civitanova Marche Itas won the Super Cup. Before that edition there were victories in 2013/14 and 2011/12.
Two teams, at Palazzo Wanny in Florence, will thus try to raise the Super Cup to the sky for the first time (Monza played for the title in 2021/22, surrendering in the Final against Trento), while two others will fight to enlarge their personal showcase .
