Delta Group Porto Viro’s preparations for the Serie A2 Credem Banca 2024/2025 championship began today. The black and fuchsia troop gathered at the Porto Viro sports hall: the day was opened by a technical-programmatic debriefing between the team and the staff, followed by the first two training sessions of the season, the first in the sports hall, the second on the beach volleyball courts of the Delta Sporting Club.
Justifiable absences include the Italian Lorenzo Magliano, who in recent weeks is preparing for the European Championships in the category with the Under 20 national team, and Charalampos Andreopoulos, engaged with the senior Greek national team in the qualifiers for the 2026 European Championships. Magliano will join his teammates after the European Championships , which will be played from 26 August to 7 September, while Andreopoulos will land in Porto Viro on 4 September and carry out his first training session the following day.
These are the considerations of coach Daniele Morato on the occasion of the meeting: “Enthusiasm must be the main ingredient of our season. On paper we have less experience than last year’s team, but the Olympics have taught us that whoever plays volleyball best wins the matches, experience has a relative weight. Our goal is to work and grow to try to play the best volleyball possible and sell our lives dearly against any opponent.”
Also this year the athletic preparation of the nerofuchsia is entrusted to Matteo Carlesso. Three other members of the healthcare staff have also been confirmed, the physiotherapist Dario Ravagnan, the osteopath Enrico Boscolo Nata and the massage therapist Miriam Cappellari, while the new face is that of the social doctor Monica Moro.
Tomorrow morning, Tuesday 13 August, the Delta Group will be guests at the Clodia Piscina & Fitness center in Chioggia for the usual physical tests at the start of the season. In the afternoon, a training session is scheduled at the Porto Viro Palasport at the end of which President Veronese and General Director Pavan will meet the team.
