Last season introduced new faces to the SuperLega championship thanks to the work of Rana Verona. One of these is Francesco Sani, who on his debut in the top men’s volleyball tournament was able to carve out his own space, contributing to the results achieved by the team. A year culminated with the first call-up to the Italian national team for the Cavalese meeting in preparation for the VNL 2024 weeks, making his debut in a friendly against Turkey.

The debut came on the fifth day, played within friendly walls against Monza. A match on which he had an important impact, as certified by the 18 points scored, the best seasonal haul together with that collected in the match against Cisterna in December, where he also won the MVP award.

Overall, the Italian-American spiker, who before joining the roster had already known the Scaliger environment having carried out some previous preparations as an aggregate, took to the field 27 times, totaling 113 points, of which 94 in attack. However, there were 14 winning blocks, four of which were against Piacenza in the second outing of the 5th Place Play Offs. Sani then collected 5 aces.
