Preparation for the 2024/2025 season of the Campi Reali Cantù has officially begun with the gathering and greeting of the fans yesterday, Tuesday 13 August 2024 at the PalaFrancescucci. The various days will see the Cantù team working under the orders of Coach Alessandro Mattiroli on the sand at Arena Beach Cadorago, with weights at the GAM Padel center in Albiolo. Furthermore, they will also train with the ball in the Casnate arena with Bernate. From August 19th the weight sessions will take place at the Cantù Sporting Club.
“Our thirteenth championship in Serie A2 begins, the twelfth in a row – says President Ambrogio Molteni to the gathered boys -. The next championship will be a very difficult one, our opponents have a good team, and therefore every match will be a fight: I think there will be no matches won or lost at the start, so whoever has the most motivation will be the one who emerges in the long run. I chose to start again with Coach Alessandro Mattiroli, who I know well because he was our trainer until 2011, who led a group of boys from the area to promotion to Serie A3, and who in my opinion has the right incentives to do well in his first experience in Serie A. The group was built together with him and Coach Alessio Zingoni. The choice to have taken boys from Serie A3 is guided by the fact that they will certainly be very hungry, and therefore will be able to perform a lot. I ask you to have fun: yours is a job, but it must also be fun. The objective of the championship is salvation: this is our basis. The rest is fine, but the first thing is to maintain the category. Another objective is to all work peacefully and with maximum commitment, and fight until the last ball drops. I would like to have a team that is combative, not giving in, and that puts its maximum effort even in defeat.”
