With last Sunday’s mini-beach tournament in Rosolina, in which a large group of little black and fuchsia athletes took part, the 2023/2024 season of the Delta Volley Porto Viro youth sector officially ended. The balance of the year is extremely positive for the Polesine nursery, which has experienced significant growth also thanks to the collaboration with Adria Volley. A partnership from which all the men’s teams have benefited, “now firmly among the best teams in the provinces of Padua, Venice and Rovigo”, proudly underlines the head of the Delta Volley youth sector Massimo Zambonin.
The Serie D/Under 21 SiderFerrari led by Andrea Boscolo obtained an honorable eighth place in the second regional championship, while the Under 19 Il Patio, after having come close to accessing the regional phase, stopped – with a hint of regret – to the semi-finals of the following Primavera Championship. In the same event, the Under 17 Brasserie also achieved fifth place, again entrusted to Andrea Boscolo, who closed the season with a clear improvement.
Remarkable are the results obtained by the Under 15 SiderFerrari of Sebastiano Ballo and Alessandro Tiozzo, capable of reaching the quarter-finals for access to the regional phase and then reaching the same finish line in the Primavera Championship. The youngest athletes of this group also participated – under the aegis of Il Patio – in the Under 13 3×3 territorial tournament, obtaining second place in the final.
“Considering that a couple of seasons ago our youth teams only played the role of extras in the inter-provincial youth scene, we are really very satisfied with the progress of the season – comments Zambonin – All the results we have obtained are important and highlight the goodness of the work that we are carrying out with our boys and girls.”
Yes, because the Delta Pink women’s sector has also been able to stand out this season. Germano Milani’s Under 18 Gallery Cafè reached the quarter-finals of the local tournament and finished in third place in the Second Division championship. The path of the Under14/Under 13 Slimar group was also positive and, thanks to the collaboration with Virtus Taglio di Po, saw several athletes blossom during the year under the careful guidance of coaches Mauro Rocchi, Sebastiano Ballo and Sara Fecchio.
