Away to the Veneto region for Smartsystem Fano (Saturday at 6pm) who will be guests of Senini Motta di Livenza for game 2 of the promotion play-off quarter-finals.
The Fano players start from 1 to 0 after the clear 3 to 0 in game 1 but Senini will be waiting for them with the aim of redeeming themselves: “We haven’t done anything yet – admits center back Pietro Galdenzi, one of the protagonists in the match 1 – we start from scratch, we worked well during the week and we are very focused on achieving our goal.”
The Virtussini will try to repeat the positive serving performance of the first match thanks to which they managed to limit the qualities of their opponents: “We know that Motta is a tough team – continues Galdenzi – we must let our strengths prevail, which are the service and the wall.”
At the public level, Motta is no less than Fano and Mastrangelo’s boys are aware that they will find a warm environment ready to cheer on the local team from the first to the last point.
On a statistical level, last Sunday Fano broke a taboo that had always seen them defeated against Motta di Livenza and now they will try to concede an encore on a pitch that has been untouched in the championship since 7 December 2023 (Senini – Gabbiano 2-3). The two left-handed hitters Mian and Mazzotti will try to give greater continuity to their game, considering that at the Palas Allende the two hitters made themselves noticed only in bursts while the task of the central defenders Arienti and Luisetto will be to limit the guns Dimitrov, Roberti and Blackbird.
On the Fano side the only uncertainty concerns the use of the central defenders, with Maletto ready to start while for the other position coach Mastrangelo will decide at the last minute whether to confirm Galdenzi or throw Focosi back into the fray.
