ABBA Pineto Volley is pleased to announce that it has appointed Simone Di Tommaso as coach of the senior team that will start the 2024/25 Serie A2 Credem Banca championship.

After having concluded his Italian experience on the beach – reaching the semi-final at the European Championships last weekend in the Netherlands – the new ABBA coach attended the team’s first training session of the season, on 19 August at the Pala Santa Maria, kicking off the new Pineto technical course.

It was a busy summer, but I worked closely with the club, with sporting director Massimo Forese, to set up a team ready to compete in the next Serie A2 championship and get some satisfaction.” On the experience at the Olympic Games: “Beach volleyball and volleyball are children of the same mother, after all. I come from an important experience, which led me to see and deal with many different sporting cultures. This has enriched me from a professional and human point of view and I will try to bring this experience of mine into a locker room and into a team which will also have its own baggage, with the aim of uniting and enhancing the peculiarities of each one.”

As far as we are concerned, this is not the time to make proclamations. I am sure that a team with very distinct qualities is coming to life, to be enhanced in the work in training.
