This afternoon the vice-president of Emma Villas Siena Fabio Mechini and the spiker of the biancoblu team Alessio Tallone visited the Siena Experience Italian Hub. On this occasion, the manager and the volleyball player of the Sienese team took stock of the situation in view of the next championship match of the Tuscan team, scheduled for Sunday in Cuneo starting from 4 pm. Emma Villas Siena has already achieved the mathematical qualification for the playoffs and achieved this goal five days before the end of the regular season.
“We continue to have and experience positive sensations – comments the vice-president of Emma Villas Siena, Fabio Mechini. – At the moment we are second in the standings and this position was not at all a given, even thinking back to the many difficulties we experienced during the season. We must thank and applaud all those who supported and supported us. We reached the playoffs with five days to go before the end of the regular season and this too was certainly not an obvious result. The team is achieving very good results, we must work well and be focused to be able to continue our path in a positive way.”
Mechini continues: “Cuneo is a team that was born to win this championship – states the vice president of the Sienese team. – It is a very strong collective, an important sporting context supported by an excellent audience. We will have to show the same stubbornness that we had in Ravenna and in the tiebreak of the match that we won in added time against Consar. We must not give up, in the last five days of the regular season we will have significant direct clashes which will also decide our positioning before the playoffs.”
“We have grown week after week – these are the words of Emma Villas Siena spiker Alessio Tallone. – In the most complicated moments of the season we pulled together and overcame the difficulties. At the beginning we were an almost completely new team, over time the knowledge between us increased and the feeling grew. We are now second in the standings and this is a great result. We are showing good team play, in the last two matches against Ravenna and Castellana Grotte we showed very good volleyball. We are continuing to train well, now we are curious to face the next challenges against very strong and ambitious teams.”
