Emma Villas Siena hopes to start 2024 exactly as it ended 2023. It won’t be easy, given that the next opponent of the team coached by coach Gianluca Graziosi will be Tinet Prata of Pordenone who is currently second in the standings with 30 points. The match, valid for the second return day of the A2 series championship, will be played on Saturday 6 January at 8.30 pm at the Crisafulli sports hall in Pordenone. Tinet won the first leg: the match was played in Santa Croce sull’Arno on 22 October and ended 2-3.

Siena is now back from three consecutive victories: the success in Porto Viro (1-3) and then the two home victories, at PalaEstra, both 3-0 first against Santa Croce and then against Ortona on the first day back. They were 9 important points for the standings of Emma Villas, who is fifth in the rankings with 28 points. At the top the positions are very close, the advantage over the first team which at the moment would be excluded from the playoffs (i.e. Santa Croce, which is eighth) is nine points.

Last day Tinet started the return round well, going on to conquer the Reggio Emilia sports hall: 1-3 the final result of the match. 18 points were scored by Petras, 14 by Terpin and 10 by Lucconi, who on Saturday will be a former matchday player.

Emma Villas, for its part, comes from a good success against Ortona, with 23 points from Matheus Krauchuk, 13 from Marco Pierotti and 9 from Riccardo Copelli. And with libero Federico Bonami who was awarded the best player of the match. He was awarded by a special guest of the evening at PalaEstra, namely Duccio Marsili, the Sienese skater who in 2023 became world champion of road skating in the sprint lap specialty.
