After last weekend’s great debut for the SuperLega Credem Banca, the first Serie A Credem Banca championship to kick off its Regular Season, the start of the Serie A2 championship is approaching: Campi Reali Cantù and Delta Group Porto Viro, They will officially kick off the season on Sunday 6 October at 5pm.
The formula for the 2024/25 season will be quite similar to the previous one: the Play Offs, which will crown the team promoted to the Super League, will end in April, while the Del Monte® Coppa Italia and Del Monte® Supercoppa will be played between April and May.
The top seven teams classified at the end of the Regular Season participate in the Play Offs, with the first team classified directly entering the Semi-finals, while the other six teams play in the Quarter-Finals. All Play Off series valid for the promotion are best of three challenges. The last two teams ranked, namely the thirteenth and fourteenth, are relegated at the end of the Regular Season. Play Outs will not be held.
Just like last season, the Play Off Quarter Final series will also have a double meaning: the winning teams, in addition to accessing the Play Off Semi Finals, will also qualify for the Quarter Finals of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A2. The teams defeated in the Quarterfinals, however, will start in the Italian Cup from the Round of 16, together with the teams from 8th to 12th place.
The Round of 16 of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A2 will be played over three matches (Game 1 and 3 at the home of the best ranked), while the Quarters, Semifinals and Finals will be played in a single match at the home of the best ranked.
