Second day of preparation for the Block Devils. This morning the boys met at the Pian di Massiano facility for the ordinary physical assessments at the beginning of the season and differentiated work, including some technical exercises on the pitch and weight training in the gym. In the afternoon, however, they returned to work on the tricolor Taraflex under the orders of coach Angelo Lorenzetti assisted by his technical staff.

In this first phase of preparation, the 9 Bianconeri present (the liberos Massimo Colaci and Alessandro Piccinelli, the central defenders Sebastian Solè and Davide Candellaro, the spiker Oleh Plotnytskyi and the opposing players Wassim Ben Tara and Jesus Herrera with the new signings, the spiker Nicola Cianciotta and the setter Francesco Zoppellari), train together with the boys from Sir Perugia’s B series, which allows for a high level of training already in these first days.

Sebastian Solè’s achievement: fifth consecutive season in Perugia

Among the “veterans” of the Italian champion team, the central defender Sebastian Solè this year reached a historic milestone for his personal career in Perugia: «This is the first time that I am about to spend five years with a team, it is something new for me and I experienced it very well because, even beyond the sporting things, I experienced many personal, beautiful things with my family; I have built many beautiful things here that obviously I will always carry with me and I think it has been a beautiful journey because every year it has been about achieving something more.”

Third season without the national team: “Seba’s” personal choice

For Sebastian Solè this will be the third season without the national team. A reasoned choice, made by the player in 2011 precisely to be closer to his family.

«I’m following the Olympics, but it’s not easy because it makes me want to get inside the TV! I miss the national team in a “good” way: I’ve now done what I’ve done and I’m happy. I’m looking at my teammates, I talk to many of them because I consider them close friends, they know that even if they want advice I’m always available. One of the reasons for my choice to leave the national team was to be closer to my family. I created a family here in Perugia and I’m watching my children grow up here.”
