News on the bench of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza: there will be two new faces in the technical staff of the red and white team, Roberto Rotari will be Andrea Anastasi’s deputy while Antonio Mariano will be the Scout Man.
Roberto Rotari, born in 1983, born in Treviso but Veronese by adoption, took his first volleyball steps in Treviso as assistant coach of Sisley Volley Treviso 2012. After some experiences both as coach and assistant coach in Italy, including Verona Volley, Veneto U19, Centrale Latte Brescia, Pallavolo Motta, Sivolley Trebaseleghe, in the last 5 years he has worked in Poland. Always as assistant coach first at Trefl Gdansk and then, in the last two seasons, at Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, a team that played in the Play Off final and won the Polish Cup. He was also part of the coaching staff of the German national team for two summers.
Roberto Rotari: “After five years abroad I felt the need to return to work in Italy and the call from Piacenza, which arrived suddenly, made me close any other negotiations I had in place. I had no doubts in accepting the proposal that came from the red and white managers. Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza is a great, ambitious club, I will work alongside Anastasi, one of the most renowned and expert coaches in volleyball, I am flattered. From the first meetings there was an easy understanding with the rest of the staff, I can’t wait to start the season.”
Antonio Mariano, born in Palmi in 1993, has important experiences in Italy and Europe behind him. After starting as an assistant coach and scout man in Serie B in Calabria, he landed at Volley Soverato in the women’s A2, the leap to the Super League came in the 2020-2021 season in Vibo Valentia where he remained for two years. In the summer of 2022 he joined the Slovenian national team and so did the following summer, taking part in the Silver League, the European Championship and the Olympic qualification. In the last two seasons he worked in Monza: winning the Play Off Challenge the first year, playing three finals (Scudetto, Italian Cup and Challenge Cup) the second.
