An experienced setter of proven skill will be the trigger point for all the attacks of the Ortona team. It is a great coup for Sieco Service Impavida Ortona who won the services of setter Riccardo Pinelli.

Born in 1991 and 193 centimeters tall, Riccardo Pinelli’s education took place in a high-class and prestigious school like the one in Modena. In the 2008/2009 season Pinelli was launched on the national stage playing a Serie B2 with the Eurotecnica Cimone Modena shirt. The setter was noticed by national talent scouts and was hired for what was a national selection of promising young volleyball players. With this selection, therefore, Blu College Vigna di Valle (Rome) will play a B1 championship in the 2009/2010 season. The following season, Blu College changes skin and changes series, so Pinelli will find himself in A2 in his first championship at high levels with the Club Italia Aeronautica Militare of Rome for 2010/2011.

The following year Riccardi moved to Crazy Diamond in Segrate, also in A2, where he would work alongside the expert setter Fabroni. After this Lombard experience, Riccardo Pinelli crowned the dream of the A1, recalled by his (Home) Modena. Here, at the age of 21, the newly fearless player will clock in for 20 sets in total.

For the following five seasons Riccardo will find his dimension in Serie A2, but with Serie A1 it will only be a goodbye. Starting from the 2013/2014 season Pinelli will tour Italy playing with high-end teams such as B-Chem Potenza Picena, Domar Matera, Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia, Tuscania and Aversa. With the Tonno Callipo Vibo Valenzia shirt, in 2016, Pinelli will win the Serie A2 Italian Cup.

For the 2018/2019 season, Superlega’s Calzedonia Verona sees Riccardo Pinelli as the ideal assistant setter. In 2021/2022, in Siena he won the Super League which he will play with the Tuscans in the 2022/203 season.

Last year Riccardo joined the WOW Green House Aversa in A2. «After many challenges with Sieco, our paths have crossed and I will no longer be in Ortona as an opponent». Pinelli says. «I am happy to be part of an ambitious and important club in the Italian volleyball scene. The club has important ambitions and it is up to us players to achieve them with work and commitment. For now all I can do is send a greeting to the fans while waiting to meet them in person and start the new season.”
