With the end of the first phase of the Interprovincial U19, U17 and U15 men’s volleyball championships and the end of the first round of the regional Serie D, for the head of the youth sector of Delta Volley Porto Viro Massimo Zambonin it is time to draw the classic balance sheet mid-season.
The evaluation of the first five months of activity is certainly positive considering that all the men’s teams reached the quarter-finals for access to the regional phase, a historic achievement for Delta Volleyball and a “privilege” for very few Interterritorial clubs (Padua -Venice-Rovigo). The journey unfortunately ended with the exit in the quarterfinals of all three teams led by coach Andrea Boscolo (U19 Il Patio and U17 Brasserie) and Sebastiano Ballo (U15 Siderferrari), but in the Nerofuchsia home the glass is more than half full : “Considering that until a couple of seasons ago our youth teams played the role of extras in the interprovincial panorama, we are very satisfied and proud of our boys – comments Zambonin – The regret is above all for the U19 who saw their historic access fade away to the regional phase by a whisker, at the tie break of a hard-fought match against Astra Volley”.
The Serie D/Under 21 Siderferrari is also giving President Veronese’s club great satisfaction, as it occupies the top positions in the second regional category and is in full swing for the promotion playoffs. “Our growth in the men’s sector – continues Zambonin – is also the result of the fruitful collaboration with Adria Volley. In this regard, I want to sincerely thank the President Federico Simoni and the manager Ezio Servadio who, with their availability, allowed the activity to be carried out in the best possible way both in the Porto Viro and Adria plants”.
