Delta Group Porto Viro is back on the court immediately, the home match against Evolution Green Aversa is scheduled for Sunday 3 November at 6pm, valid for the sixth first leg of the Serie A2 Credem Banca. After the coup on the Taraflex of league leaders Ravenna in midweek, the Nerofuchsia are looking for a third consecutive success, but – ranking in hand – they can also have a bigger target in their sights: the top is just one point away.
“Thursday’s victory represents a very important step in our championship journey – comments the striker Pedro Henrique Ferreira Silva –, it shows that we are a great team and gives us confidence to face the next matches. We can dream of first place in the standings and on Sunday we will try to get it.”
It is very unlikely that Aversa will agree, also because it in turn has just returned from a “major” success in midweek, the 3-2 home win against Acicastello. The Normans are currently sixth in the rankings with eight points, just three less than Porto Viro, and could therefore try to catch up.
“It will be a difficult race – continues Pedro –, we will need a lot of patience and we will have to be effective in counterattacking: it is a phase that is already working very well, but we can do even more by taking advantage of all the opportunities we have. Our fans will be fundamental as always, so far they have given us the strength to play excellent games at home, they are truly our seventh man on the court.”
