After two consecutive away rounds, Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia returns to play the Champions League within the friendly walls of PalaEvangelisti, in the fourth round of the Pool D group stage.
Perfect path so far for the Block Devils who have achieved 3 victories out of 3 matches played, all with a round result of 3-0, without therefore losing a single set. A positive streak which means that Angelo Lorenzetti’s boys are at the top of Pool D, with 9 points, followed by the French team, second with 6 points.
Saint Nazaire, led by coach Fulvio Bertini, is fresh from the 3-1 away win at Ceske Budejovice and is intent on making amends for the first leg match, in which Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia won 3-0. On the other hand, the Block Devils want to continue winning to dominate the group, well aware – for the continuation of their journey in the Champions League – of the importance of not leaving even a set on the way, as underlined by coach Lorenzetti, interviewed by the journalist Christophe Penoignon for the French newspaper Ouest-France:
«We know that we are a competitive team: this does not mean that we already want to think about the final act of each event. We know that the road to get there is very demanding and therefore we are focused precisely on the moment: as regards the Champions League, we want to finish first in the group and we also know that there is convenience in being among the “first of the first”, therefore also the sets are important. It doesn’t mean that we won’t lose a set, but it means that every set we will try to sell dearly.”
