New arrival in the Avimecc Volley Modica technical staff. This is Paolo Modica who after a few years returns to the world of men’s volleyball.
Paolo Modica, in fact, will be the athletic consultant of the white and blue team and will work in synergy with both coach Enzo Distefano and the athletic trainer Emanuele Cappello.
Paolo Modica will have the task of studying training methodologies, functional assessments, team training programming and periodizations with trends in work loads and unloadings and calculation of algorithms.
“After about 25 years of working around Sicily – explains Paolo Modica – I liked the idea of getting closer to home and the idea of being able to make a contribution to Volley Modica to improve the general organization by bringing the experience accumulated in professional clubs where there are many staff who collaborate with each other. This idea of being able to provide greater organization pushed me to accept this proposal. My goal – he continues – is to give an important contribution to the coach in the general organization of the management of the athletes both from a physical – athletic and mental point of view. Returning to work in the world of volleyball is for me like returning to my first love. I was born as an athletic trainer with athletics, but I started in the world of volleyball with Corrado Scavino with whom I collaborated for many years. Subsequently I went around Sicily to various island locations even though in many cases I worked in the world of women’s volleyball, but – concludes Paolo Modica – coaching a men’s volleyball team is stimulating as well as satisfying because it is totally different compared to women because you’re dealing with excellent jumpers.”
