After a season that ended with a bitter taste in the mouth, due to the defeat in the quarter-finals in two matches against Belluno, but certainly to be framed for a legendary month of March with the conquest of the Italian category Cup in the Marche region against the hosts of Smartsystem Fano (Sunday 3 March) and after four weeks the success in the Del Monte® Supercoppa A3, after overcoming the battleship of the white group Gabbiano Mantova on Holy Saturday at the “Mimmo Surace” stadium (both defeated with the identical score of 3–1).

In the press conference held in the council room at Palazzo San Nicola, the patron Pino Carbone, the captain Carmelo Gitto and the coach Andrea Radici expressed their thoughts and expectations for this new season which will begin with the athletic training whose “start” it should be in the second ten days of August. Also present was the Councilor with delegations to tourism, events and urban regeneration Giuseppe Magazzù, very close to the events of the Palmese association especially in the last season, as well as the mayor, Giuseppe Ranuccio.

The deus ex machina of the OmiFer company Franco Tigano Palmi, in addition to remembering one of the Calabrian volleyball “pioneers”, whose team bears his name, initially drew up a mini balance sheet on the result achieved in the last competitive season by his boys: «It is It’s true that we missed the goal of promotion to A2, but we still achieved a result of great importance with the victory of the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup – said the owner Pino Carbone with a hint of pride – which are two fundamental “lock pickers” of growth for our entire entourage. The Play Offs are a “Russian roulette” and in addition to my boys being defeated in two games by Belluno, Mantua and Belluno themselves know this very well. The Virgilians who dominated the White group, wasted a match point in game two in Macerata for direct promotion to A2, suffering a psychophysical setback not only in the play-off match within friendly walls against the Marches – continues president Carbone – but subsequently in the semi-final match against San Dona di Piave, lost in two games.
