With 44 sets played, of which 16 won, the Bianconeri of Sonepar Padova concluded the first round with a balance that speaks of teamwork in the arena, constant growth and ability to face every challenge without awe, demonstrating, match after the match, to be able to compete head-on even against the most renowned teams in the Championship.
This first part of the season has seen the youngest team in the Super League working hard on the path towards achieving their seasonal objectives. Between tie-break races and constant progress, the Paduan team now looks to the return round with the “knife between their teeth” and the determination to grow further. Coach Jacopo Cuttini and his deputy, Alberto Salmaso, took stock of this first phase of the Championship, analyzing the key moments and outlining the next challenges.
Jacopo Cuttini: “Objective of continuous growth in a top-level championship”.
How do you rate the team’s performance in this group? Were there key moments that marked the journey?
“The key moment, like every year, is certainly the initial approach. For a team like ours, it is essential to start in the best possible way immediately, unlike teams with more ambitious goals. The goal at the beginning of the season was to be effective straight away. We succeeded, perhaps better than other teams, also thanks to continuity: six of our fourteen players were already with us last year. This allowed us to start with good results, even against more renowned teams.
