Modena Sitting Volley will be present at the Paris Paralympics thanks to Sara Desini, a yellow-blue spiker born in 1998 who will participate with the Italian national team in the Paralympic games in the French capital from 28 August to 8 September.

“The passion for Sitting Volley – explains Desini – was born many years ago. I had talked about it at school in Olbia with a gymnastics teacher from a different section from mine, I tried but at the beginning I didn’t like it very much. After the second and third training, I changed my mind and I never left the gym again. I feel very good in Modena, I played several matches and the last year has gone well. hoping to continue like this over the next few seasons. Now there is little left – continues Sara – to the big Paralympic event, a little anxiety is starting to rise but at the same time there is anticipation and enthusiasm. We will leave slightly earlier for carry out a week’s retreat in Milan, after which we will all leave together for Paris. Compared to Tokyo, which was our first time, we are now better prepared and know what awaits us: it is the most important competition we have ever participated in. in recent years we have trained to be ready and therefore there is maximum attention to stay focused on the objective to be achieved and to face each individual opponent in the best possible way. We want to go there and play well, trying to get as high as possible and fight without ever giving up. Opening ceremony? I cried at the one in Tokyo – concludes Desini -, so it will certainly be another beautiful emotion that I can’t wait to experience”.
