Michele Baranowicz has extended his contract with Cisterna Volley and will wear the Pontine Club’s shirt also in the next Super League season. The setter born in 1989, 196 centimeters tall, had arrived in the current championship, in mid-November, in the team trained by coach Guillermo Falasca.
«I am happy to continue this adventure of mine here in Cisterna because I am very fond of this square, of the club, of those who are part of it and this makes me very happy also because it is a truly family environment, the work is good and so does my family is very happy to be here – explained the setter who in his career wore the shirts of Modena, Lube, Verona, Piacenza, and Vibo while abroad he gained experience in Ankara and Hebar in Bulgaria, his last team before to return to the province of Latina – The project? There have certainly been no major upheavals so far and improvement must always come through work and experience: in the season just ended we demonstrated that we can play against everyone, we also wasted some opportunities to reach the play-offs but I want to to say that it was still a positive season for us. The next championship? I expect it to be very complicated as usual, many teams will change their personnel and perhaps the fact that we have changed little will be an advantage for us: I can’t wait to start preparing for next season, I’m very motivated at this club ».
Michele Baranowicz, who in his last season at Cisterna broke through the barrier of 400 appearances in Serie A (403), was MVP overall 22 times in his career. The director made his debut for the national team on 18 May 2011 on the occasion of France-Italy (0-3), wearing the same blue shirt with which he won the bronze medal at the Grand Champions Cup in 2013. At club level his palmares also includes an Italian championship won in 2014, an Italian Super Cup, an Italian Cup (2006), a Challenge Cup (2016) and a Turkish Super Cup (2018).
