Last pieces and then the ABBA Pineto mosaic will be complete. The new player added by DS Massimo Forese to the roster that will face the next Serie A2 Credem Banca is named Michael Molinari. The central defender, born in 1998 and originally from San Severino Marche, is a welcome return to the blue and white: his first experience in Pineto, in fact, dates back to the 2019/20 season – then interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic – in the Serie B championship. The last shirt worn by the powerful player from the Marche (197 centimetres) is the Rinascita Lagonegro, in Serie A3.
Molinari will therefore enrich the central defenders sector, where the arrival of the expert Matteo Zamagni is already official and where in the next few days the company will announce the last name of the summer strengthening campaign.
Michael Molinari began his volleyball experience at Lube Macerata where, after his entire youth career, he made his senior debut between Serie D and Serie C. In 2015 he made his debut in B2 with Paoloni Appignano, and then remained in Macerata (Serie B and A2) . In 2020, the Pineto parenthesis was archived, the first of two experiences in Lagonegro and then again in Abruzzo with the 2021/22 year spent in Ortona in Serie A2. In the last two seasons, both in Serie A3, first Sabaudia and then again Lagonegro, where last year he finished with 130 total points of which 60 were blocked and 66 in attack.
“I am really happy to return to be part of an ambitious club like Pineto – says the new ABBA center back – and to find many friends again. I can’t wait to get started and feel the warmth of the audience again to have fun together. I take this opportunity to say hello to all the fans and see you soon at the Pala Santa Maria.” Molinari’s is the third return to Pineto after those of Andrea Bulfon and Mattia Catone.
