Volley Savigliano announces that, at the end of the 2023/24 sports season, after six years the paths will be divided between the white and blue partnership and the assistant coach Matteo Brignone.
Born in Monregale in 1984, “Brigna” represented one of the last elements of the “old guard” of Savigliano, having arrived at PalaMarenco in 2018. For him, four seasons as second coach under the technical guidance of Roberto Bonifetto, with the historic promotion to Serie A3 Credem Banca, centered after the victory in the Serie B playoffs in 2020/21, and two years as “deputy” to coach Lorenzo Simeon, topped off by double qualification for the playoffs and participation in the final four of the Del Monte Coppa Italia A3 last March 2024 .
“For me, volleyball has always been a dream, even more than a passion, and I have to say thanks to Savigliano, because here I managed to turn it into reality. Volley Savigliano believed in me and gave me the concrete opportunity to savor the emotions offered by the Serie A pitches. I can only say “thank you” to everyone for these fantastic years and for the many memories that I will carry with me for Always. Mine is primarily a personal choice, but I will always be a fan of these colours.” – Brignone’s thoughts.
His words are echoed by those of Guido Rosso, president of Volley Savigliano: “It is certainly sad to part ways, because “Brigna” contributed in an important way to writing the recent history of the club, first as support for Bonifetto and then for Simeon. He gave so much for these colors and leaves us with many beautiful memories. We also thank him for what he has done thanks to his skills in the medical and healthcare fields, which have been important for us in recent years. He was an important point of reference for the boys and for us in the management. I can only wish him the best for his professional career, wherever he goes.”
