Based on the results of the 2023 “Sponsor Value” survey conducted by StageUp and Ipsos, the President of the Serie A Volleyball League, Massimo Righi, ranks second in the approval ranking among sports managers in Italy. Placement that underlines the continuous recognition of his work within the volleyball sector.
The entire podium of the approval ranking is dominated by figures belonging to sports disciplines other than football: Umberto Gandini, President of the Basketball League, is in first place with an approval rating of 67.3%, Massimo Righi, President of the Serie A Righi Volleyball League in second place with 61.9%, and Angelo Binaghi, President of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, in third with 61.8%.
In the category of notoriety, however, football managers maintain a monopoly: Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of SSC Napoli, is the best known manager with a percentage of 61.6%. Followed by Adriano Galliani, CEO of A.C. Monza, with 57.5% and Claudio Lotito, president of SS Lazio, with 46.8%.
“The 2023 data from the in-depth Sponsor Value research on Italian sports managers – declares Giovanni Palazzi, President of StageUp – once again reaffirms football as an unrivaled stage for the notoriety of managers but, at the same time, the difficulty in affirming, in the minds of those interested, new protagonists. The data on satisfaction, on the contrary, highlights great dynamism, highlighting non-football managers who, despite enjoying less notoriety among the general public, are evaluated by fans as competent and capable of effective work as well as quality. The presence on the podium in the order of the President of LBA Umberto Gandini, of the Lega Volley counterpart Massimo Righi and, finally, of the number one of Federtennis Angelo Binaghi, attest to the attention of the fans to the managerial and competitive results obtained by the reference organizations and, at the same time, to the personalities who managed the growth”.
“These recognitions and expressions of esteem obtained in the Sponsor Value survey certainly make me proud – commented the President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi – However, I don’t want to take too much credit myself, because this result is the result of team work and of the commitment of all of us in Lega Palla Palla Serie A: all this is made possible by the Presidents, managers, the Board of Directors, the clubs and our Lega staff. Their support and dedication are vital in promoting the development of our sport. I am proud of this collective achievement and of the work we continue to do together for volleyball.”
