Massimiliano Ortenzi triumphs. A day to frame and remember. The Yuasa Battery coach, leader of the team that obtained the historic promotion to the Super League, is the best coach in the A2 men’s volleyball series for the 2023/24 season. His is the “Costa Anderlini Award”. A top-notch award as all the trade companies voted. First place was not a given, given the fierce competition, but the triumphant gallop towards paradise, which has caused so much talk in recent months from north to south of the peninsula and not only in sporting circles, meant that the prestigious recognition rewarded the consistency, tenacity, skill and heart of the youngest coach in the Italian top league. The official communication to Ortenzi himself came a few hours ago directly with a letter signed by Massimo Righi, president of the Serie A Volleyball League. Righi expresses “heartfelt congratulations” to Ortenzi and explains that the prize was awarded “on the basis of the reports received from all A2 series clubs”. Ortenzi has therefore won the prestigious “Costa Anderlini Award”: the award ceremony is scheduled in Bologna, Thursday 18 July at 2.30 pm, in the meeting room of the Hotel Centergross. Precisely on that day in the capital of Bologna the Yuasa Battery will know its path in the first, historic Super League championship as the draw is scheduled to define the seasonal calendar. So, a lion’s 18th of July for the club led by president Rossano Romiti, who underlines one aspect: “We are very happy as a club with the award awarded to Ortenzi and I am personally happy too because I believe there is a lot of the coach’s work on the results obtained from the M&G Volleyball School Yuasa Battery and in particular on this year’s prestigious achievement. It’s a great satisfaction to receive the recognition, among other things it’s the first time in 16 years of Serie A.”
